About Me
I was born in 1969 in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. I grew up in Brinkworth near Malmesbury and then Aldbourne near Marlborough until I moved to Bristol in 1988 to study for a degree in Illustration. I gained my honours degree in 1991 and lived in Bristol working as a freelance illustrator. In 1998 I started studying for my Masters Degree in Printmaking. During this time I continued practising as a commercial artist and started to draw images using fibre tip pens of local architecture and the built environment. I started working with silkscreen printmaking in order to colour my line drawings and found a natural affiliation to the process learning the age old disciplines of etching and relief printing along with modern processes such as silkscreen, always based on my love of drawing. In 2001 I completed my Masters Degree with a collection of silkscreen prints and etchings all drawn from important places in my life, made as a large series of postcards. From there I was launched into the gallery scene, selling work in galleries in London, Bristol, Bath and Cornwall. My earliest editions have now all sold out and in the last year I have started using D'Silva editions in St Just in Cornwall to help me make my more recent silkscreen prints. Everything that I produce remains completely handmade by either myself or David D'Silva and is of the highest technical quality and strictly limited in numbers.I hope you enjoy looking at my work online or visit one of the galleries that I supply or our own gallery in St Ives. You can also see my work at the Battersea Affordable Arts Fair in October and the Bristol Affordable Arts Fair in May.
